The NB / PEI Council, Girl Guides of Canada-Guides du Canada, recognizes the importance of continuing education and has designed a Scholarship Program to encourage further education of active, registered members of Girl Guides of Canada-Guides du Canada in NB /PEI.
The applicants may attend university, community college, technical school, or any recognized post-secondary private education facility in a full-time or part-time capacity. A scholarship will be awarded each year in the amount of $500.00 to one youth and one adult member to assist with the tuition of the successful applicants.
Criteria
- Applicants must be well-rounded active members of Girl Guides of Canada-Guides du Canada in NB / PEI.
- The recipient(s) must continue her involvement with Guiding in NB / PEI for at least one year following the use of the scholarship.
- A copy of either High School marks for freshman year or post-secondary marks for continuing education is to accompany the application.
- Recipient(s) must provide proof of acceptance at the chosen institution by September 15.
- A cheque for $500.00 will be forwarded to the member(s) to assist with tuition.
- The recipient must allow her name and/or image to be published through the signing of an IR-1form.
- Unsuccessful candidates are encouraged to apply again.

Two confidential references from non-family members (one from a Guiding member and one from a non-Guiding individual) are to be submitted to support the application. The letter should include how long the writer has known the applicant and in what capacity, the qualities of the applicant that make her a deserving recipient, and any other relevant information.
It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that their references complete the submission on time. Applications will not be considered completed until both references have submitted their recommendations.
